In Dutch NWO Cancer-ID Perspectief program, research teams developed the detection and characterization protocol by combination of antibody labelling and refractive index determination to distinguish EVs from lipoprotein. For ease of application, scatter and fluorescence signals per particle were presented and analyzed using scatter plots on an Apogee A60 Micro PLUS flow cytometer. In advance, combination of more than one techniques and use of multiple antibodies against different cancer-specific antigens will also help to enhance capture efficacy to identify various subclasses of tumor-derived EVs.
